VAMPIRES EVERYWHERE have always lived at the intersection of darkness, theatricality and raw live energy. I photographed the band at Gas Monkey Bar N’ Grill in Dallas on May 12, 2016, capturing Michael Vampire and the band in a set filled with dramatic stage presence, striking visual detail and the kind of atmosphere that makes live music photography so addictive.

VAMPIRES EVERYWHERE brought a dark, theatrical edge to the Gas Monkey Bar N’ Grill stage, and Michael Vampire was impossible to ignore through the lens. The hat, the tattoos, the ghostly eyes, the microphone clenched in his hand — every detail contributed to a visual identity that translated perfectly into concert photography.

What I remember most about this set is the atmosphere. Deep blues and purples, smoke hanging over the stage and a band whose entire presentation felt designed for the shadows.

Stripped into black and white, these photographs become even more about expression, movement and presence. More than a decade later, they remain one of those archives that immediately takes me back to the photo pit.
